Plot

Following the conclusion of the Civil War, two soldiers make their way home, burdened with a stash of ill-gotten cash. However, their plans unravel when Union troops capture them; one manages to flee while the other is imprisoned for five years. Upon his release, the soldier returns only to discover his wife has succumbed to hardship in his absence, while his former comrade, now a formidable local tyrant, has hoarded their fortune and amassed a ruthless gang. Stripped of everything, he must confront the betrayal and seek justice in a lawless land.
