Plot
Set against the backdrop of the Chinese Civil War in 1926, drifter Ted Beaubien endures a harrowing ordeal when he is forced to witness his girlfriend's execution. After a daring escape, he seeks revenge by embarking on a perilous mission to smuggle guns back home. Upon returning, he discovers his mother and younger brother George are destitute, heightening his urgency. As he arranges the arms deal, Ted becomes entangled with the alluring nightclub owner Maud Ryan, whose connections to dangerous gangsters complicate his quest. In the world of gun-running, love proves to be the most dangerous gamble of all.
