The Talking Dog (1956)

Plot

Maggie and Sam manage to save up enough to settle their mortgage, but Maggie cautions Sam to be cautious during his trip to the bank. On his way, he encounters a dubious man who tries to lure him into various money-making schemes. Sam turns down all the offers until he is presented with a talking dog. Convinced that this dog could bring them wealth, he makes the purchase. After numerous failed attempts, he finally secures a theater gig for the dog. However, just before the performance, a cat disrupts the show. Consequently, Maggie and Sam lose their home, and Sam finds himself literally in the doghouse with his new companion.
