Gebo and the Shadow (2012)

Plot

Gebo, an aging accountant, tirelessly supports his family, including his wife Doroteia and daughter-in-law Sofia. The shadow of his missing son and Doroteia's husband, João, looms heavily over their household. While Doroteia clings to hope for João's return, Gebo conceals a troubling secret from her. Sofia, too, is caught in a web of conflicting emotions—eager for her husband's return yet haunted by fear. When João finally appears, the family's dynamics shift dramatically, forcing them to confront the truths and tensions that have long been buried.
