Plot

Amidst the backdrop of a South African platinum mine in August 2012, workers initiated a wildcat strike demanding fair wages. Just six days later, the situation escalated tragically when police opened fire, resulting in the deaths of 34 miners and numerous injuries. "Miners Shot Down" captures the harrowing events through the eyes of the Marikana miners, documenting their brave yet solitary struggle against the powerful mining corporation Lonmin, the ANC government, and the National Union of Mineworkers.
