Plot

As Christmas approaches, Lucy Toomey is on the brink of a major career milestone, poised to become a partner at a prestigious New York law firm. Tragedy strikes when her older sister Alice, who had special needs, unexpectedly dies, prompting Lucy to return to her childhood home in Nilson’s Bay, Wisconsin, for the funeral and to settle Alice's estate. Overwhelmed with regret for missing Alice's last call, Lucy encounters Peter, her high school sweetheart and Alice's attorney.
