Plot
Kazablan, a vibrant adaptation of a beloved Israeli musical, tells the story of an army veteran now leading a gang in Jaffa. Behind his tough exterior lies a deep-seated bitterness, softened only by his affection for Rachel, a young woman living with her strict father and stepmother. Their romance ignites scandal among the locals, especially inciting the jealousy of Yanush, a middle-aged shoe store owner who believes he has a claim to Rachel due to their shared Ashkenazi heritage. As urban development threatens their homes, the community unites to save them, but when funds vanish, Kazablan finds himself in jail, desperate to prove his innocence.
