Plot
In 2009, Iranian Canadian journalist Maziar Bahari reported on Iran’s tumultuous elections for Newsweek. As one of the rare reporters with access to U.S. media, he participated in a satirical segment on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, interviewing with comedian Jason Jones. Unbeknownst to him, the Tehran authorities misinterpreted the humor, leading to dire consequences. Bahari’s life took a dark turn when he was forcibly taken from his family home and imprisoned, facing intense interrogation and the harsh realities of political repression.
