What Did the Lady Forget? (1937)

Plot

Professor Komiya and his domineering wife, Tokiko, are tasked with caring for their vivacious niece, Setsuko, who hails from Osaka. Although still a minor, Setsuko embodies independence, indulging in activities like smoking. She manages to persuade Komiya to escort her to a geisha establishment. After enjoying a few drinks, Setsuko becomes quite inebriated, prompting the professor to enlist Okada, one of his students, to help her get home. Tokiko’s suspicions arise as she witnesses Okada returning with Setsuko, leading to tension within the household.
