Plot
In 1348, as the plague ravages England, a young boy from the isolated village of Little Griffin finds a glimmer of hope through recurring dreams. His visions reveal a lake with a floating coffin, a white church crowned with an iron cross, a falling glove, and a shadowy figure. Interpreting these dreams as a prophecy, he and his brother rally a small group of men to embark on a perilous quest to a distant cathedral, where they aim to honor God with an iron cross. Their journey unexpectedly catapults them through a dark mine shaft into 1980s New Zealand.
