Plot
Set in 9th century China, ten-year-old Nie Yinniang, the daughter of a general, is kidnapped by a nun who trains her in the art of assassination. Over the years, she becomes a formidable killer, tasked with eliminating corrupt governors. However, after a mission goes awry, her mistress sends her back to her homeland with a new assignment: to assassinate her betrothed cousin, now a powerful military leader. After thirteen years in exile, Yinniang must confront her past, her family, and the emotions she has long buried.
