Plot
In 1969, Chen Zhen, a young student from Beijing, embarks on a journey to the vast landscapes of Inner Mongolia, where he joins a community of nomadic herders. As he adapts to their way of life, the tension between encroaching civilization from the south and the predatory wolves to the north escalates. Amidst the clash of cultures and the fight for survival, both humans and wolves grapple with their identities and roles in a rapidly changing world, highlighting the delicate balance between nature and progress.
