Lucky Star (1929)

Plot

Mary, a struggling farm girl, encounters Tim just as war is declared. He enlists and faces the harsh realities of battle in Europe, ultimately sustaining injuries that leave him paralyzed from the waist down. Back home, Tim is drawn to Mary during her visits, but his disability holds him back from expressing his feelings. Complicating matters further, Martin, Tim's former sergeant with a bullying streak, becomes interested in Mary, creating tension and emotional turmoil as Tim grapples with his love and limitations.
