Two New Yorkers, the pretentious teacher Willie and reserved photographer Phil, form an unlikely friendship following a screening of Truffaut's iconic film "Jules et Jim," which explores complex romantic entanglements. Their lives take a turn when they encounter Jeanette, a free-spirited Southern woman who quickly becomes romantically involved with both men.
