Plot

SACRED GROUND unfolds the true story of a mountain man and his Native American wife who discover an unfinished cabin and decide to complete it as their home, unaware that they are settling on sacred burial land. Tensions arise when a Paiute burial party confronts them, leading to a violent encounter that leaves the wife gravely injured during childbirth. Grief-stricken and in need of a wetnurse for his newborn, the man kidnaps a Paiute woman who has just lost her child. In this modern retelling of Helen of Troy, he fights against the entire tribe in a desperate struggle for survival.
