Plot

Johnny Slade, a struggling lounge singer, finds himself in a precarious situation when a mysterious figure hires him to launch a trendy new club. Each night, he’s forced to perform a dreadful song that coincidentally aligns with new criminal activities in the city. As the connection dawns on him, Johnny uncovers that his elusive benefactor is actually a notorious mob boss operating undercover. The terrible tunes serve as coded orders for his criminal associates, thrusting Johnny into a dangerous game that blurs the line between music and mayhem.
