The Hawk of Wild River (1952)

Plot

Steve Martin arrives in Wild River to retrieve stolen gold, only to discover the town is under siege by the notorious outlaw known as The Hawk and his gang. After a failed assassination attempt on Sheriff Jack Mahoney, The Hawk finds himself behind bars. In a surprising twist, Steve aids the bandit in escaping, which allows him to infiltrate the gang. Meanwhile, he enlists the help of the clumsy photographer, Smiley Burnette, to alert the sheriff about an impending robbery at the express office, setting the stage for a showdown between law and lawlessness.
