Plot

Leroy Lowe, the grand dragon of the Texas Ku Klux Klan, faces an unexpected transformation during his three-year sentence on a prison work farm. Assigned to share a cell with Emilio, a Hispanic labor rights activist, Leroy grapples with his deeply ingrained prejudices. As Emilio’s relentless optimism and chatter penetrate his anger, Leroy begins attending weekly rehabilitation sessions led by Warden Merville. The arrival of Madalena, a captivating Mexican maid, further complicates Leroy's worldview, igniting a surprising romance that challenges his beliefs and steers him toward redemption. Change is possible, even for a man steeped in hatred.
