Plot

Etienne Alexis, a presidential hopeful in the emerging Europe, champions artificial insemination as a means to enhance society and suppress desire. To mark his engagement to a cousin, he organizes a sterile picnic that soon succumbs to nature's whims. A shepherd’s flute unexpectedly stirs a windstorm, leading to a fateful encounter with Nénette, a captivating farm girl yearning for motherhood yet disenchanted with men.
