Plot

In a quaint Japanese village, Ko-Ko unexpectedly becomes the town executioner, a role he must fulfill before the Mikado's impending visit. Facing pressure, he targets Nanki-Poo, a lovestruck young man heartbroken over Yum-Yum, his beloved who is promised to Ko-Ko. Nanki-Poo is willing to accept his fate, provided he can spend his final days with Yum-Yum. This lively adaptation captures the whimsical antics and musical charm of Gilbert and Sullivan, filmed during the 1982 Stratford Festival in Ontario.
