Plot

Nicholas Ray, facing terminal cancer, is determined to finish a last project before he dies. Meanwhile, Wim Wenders, busy with his film Hammett in Hollywood, travels to New York to assist Ray in achieving his dream. Ray envisions a narrative about a dying painter who embarks on a journey to China in search of a cure.
