In "Starting Out in the Evening," Leonard Schiller, a once-renowned author in New York's literary scene, has succumbed to illness and a decade-long writer's block, rendering him nearly invisible. However, his life takes a turn when Heather Wolfe, an eager literature student, requests an interview for her thesis centered on his writings. Her enthusiasm compels Leonard to confront long-ignored personal struggles and rekindle emotions he thought were lost, much to the dismay of his daughter, who is concerned about the impact of this unexpected connection.
