Royal artifacts from the West African kingdom of Dahomey were seized by French colonists in the 19th century, ending up in Parisian collections. In contemporary Benin, a small fraction of these treasures has finally returned home. This dramatized documentary explores the poignant journey of 26 of these artifacts, narrated by cultural art historians, passionate university students, and even one of the repatriated statues. Their stories reveal the deep significance of these treasures and the ongoing struggle for cultural restitution.
