Plot

American gangster Jimmie Dean heads to England to escape his troubled past, only to find himself mistaken for a Canadian man accused of murder. To clear his name, he reluctantly enlists in the British army as the deceased's replacement. Amid his military service, Jimmie develops feelings for Sally Briggs, the Canadian's childhood friend. His journey takes an unexpected turn when he bravely rescues a stranded English colony in China, transforming him from a fugitive into an unlikely hero.
