My Father’s Brothers (2021)

Plot

Jack Kelley, an army captain, enlisted in the Vietnam War, where he led 140 men on patrols around Biên Hòa. On June 29, 1966, orders from higher command instructed him to spread his platoons 1,000 meters apart to cover more ground in search of Vietcong forces. Unfortunately, the 3rd platoon encountered a well-embedded Vietcong battalion and faced a devastating attack, outnumbered ten to one in the treacherous jungle terrain. This poignant documentary follows the filmmaker’s father and seven survivors as they navigate their traumatic memories and seek closure years after the conflict ended.
