Plot

Amidst the turmoil in Afghanistan, where a significant number of citizens seek refuge in the West, RocKabul explores the aftermath of over a trillion dollars poured into the nation since 2002. Through the lens of Afghan youth forming the country’s inaugural heavy metal band and an adventurous Australian nurturing a Western music scene in Kabul, the film highlights the clash between aspiration and oppression. As these young musicians strive to connect with their peers through headbanging melodies, the looming threat of the Taliban's resurgence casts a shadow over their dreams. Will music bridge the divide or face formidable challenges?
