Plot

Fourteen-year-old Mackenzie finds herself living with her uncle in Juneau after her mother is unable to provide care. As life with her uncle becomes increasingly unbearable, she decides to escape and head back to her mother in Seattle. During her perilous trek, marked by nights spent in cars and hotel break-ins, she encounters Rene, a solitary backpacker seeking solace in nature. Their paths intertwine, and together they navigate the challenges of survival while forging an unexpected bond amid the vast wilderness.
