Plot

Seventy-year-old Daikichi resides on a tranquil island, sharing his days with his beloved cat, Tama, and close childhood friends like Iwao. Despite his son Tsuyoshi's concerns about his father's solitary lifestyle in the wake of his mother's passing, Daikichi finds comfort in his simple routine. However, after the death of a dear friend, he becomes increasingly aware of his own health and mortality. This poignant tale, inspired by the manga "Neko to Jiichan," explores themes of companionship, aging, and the resilience of the human spirit amidst life's inevitable changes.
