The Road to Kuthriyar (2021)

Plot

Dhruv, a well-meaning yet complacent wildlife researcher, is tasked with mapping the expansive Kodaikanal Wildlife Sanctuary in Tamil Nadu. Equipped with outdated maps and a GPS device, he enlists local tribesman Dorai as his guide. Initially, Dhruv grapples with both the physical demands of the survey and Dorai's struggles with alcoholism and fear of authority. As they journey through the wilderness, a surprising camaraderie develops, leading to a profound transformation for Dhruv. An unexpected accident in Dorai’s village opens his eyes to the realities of marginalized communities, challenging his previously held beliefs.
