Plot

Charlie Lang, a generous New York City policeman, finds himself without cash to tip Yvonne Biasi, a waitress. In a moment of kindness, he promises her half of his lottery ticket's winnings. To his surprise, the ticket is worth $4 million. Keeping his promise, Charlie shares the fortune with Yvonne, much to the dismay of his avaricious wife, Muriel. Unhappy with the split, Muriel concocts a plan to seize the entire jackpot for herself.
