Plot

Allied forces unearthed horrific truths upon liberating Nazi concentration camps in 1944-45, capturing the grim reality through the lenses of army and newsreel cameramen. Sidney Bernstein, later a founder of Granada Television, spearheaded a documentary project using British, Soviet, and American footage to document these atrocities. He enlisted notable figures, including editor Stewart McAllister and writer Richard Crossman, with Alfred Hitchcock serving as a treatment advisor. Despite initial backing from the British and American governments, the project was ultimately shelved. Now, after seven decades, the film has been restored by the Imperial War Museums under its original title, "German Concentration Camps Factual Survey."
