Plot

Pascal, 53, and Carole, 28, are shepherds embarking on a grueling four-month journey through the Swiss-French countryside in November 2010. Covering 600 kilometers with three donkeys, four dogs, and 800 sheep, they face harsh weather and freezing temperatures, relying on a simple canvas cover for shelter. Their trek highlights the challenges of shepherding, requiring adaptability and a deep connection to nature and their animals. Along the way, they encounter fellow farmers and nostalgic figures from an increasingly vanishing rural life. This contemporary road movie offers a poignant reflection on our roots and existential questions.
