Plot
A young Sicilian experiences a series of misfortunes but ultimately strikes it rich. Meanwhile, a man masquerades as a deaf-mute in a convent filled with inquisitive nuns. A woman scrambles to conceal her lover when her husband unexpectedly returns home. A con artist tricks a priest on his deathbed, while three brothers seek vengeance against their sister's suitor. A girl sneaks onto the roof for secret meetings with her boyfriend, a group of painters anxiously awaits inspiration, and a scheming priest tries to seduce his friend's wife. Two friends ponder the mysteries of the afterlife.
