Plot
Parikka, once celebrated as Finland's Funniest Man, faces execution alongside his theater troupe for their roles in the Civil War. But Jaeger Lieutenant Nyborg, a fan of Parikka's work, believes justice is being denied. He seizes the chance to save them when German General von der Goltz plans a visit to the prison island. Nyborg proposes that the actors perform a comedic show to earn a new trial instead of facing the firing squad. Amidst dire conditions and dwindling talent, Parikka must rally the remaining stagehands and conjure a performance that elicits laughter despite the grim reality.
