At the Casa do Povo cultural center in São Paulo, a historic hub of the secular Jewish workers' movement, the stage is set for a preview of Bickels [Socialism] in October 2016. Amidst the sounds of construction and everyday life, a group of young creatives prepares to showcase a film that highlights 22 architectural works by Samuel Bickels, primarily for kibbutzim. These vibrant structures, including dining halls and children’s centers, once symbolized socialist ideals but now face abandonment or repurposing, reflecting the fading influence of the ideals they were built to embody.
