Plot

Teddy Duncan's family sets off on a Christmas road trip from Denver to visit her grandparents, the Blankenhoopers, in Palm Springs. Their journey takes an unexpected turn when they become stranded en route and attempt to hitch a ride with an eccentric older couple who are convinced they’ve been abducted by aliens. Faced with quirky challenges, the Duncans end up buying a rundown Yugo to continue their trek, only to have their luggage stolen in Las Vegas. Amid the chaos, they navigate a hilariously unpredictable holiday with Grandma and Grandpa Blankenhooper.
