Plot

Nick Van Alstyne, a wealthy owner of the Henrietta silver mine, struggles to manage his naive and pampered son, Bertie. Complicating matters, Bertie's sister Rose is wed to the unscrupulous investor Mark, whose deceitful actions jeopardize the family's fortune. Mark manipulates Bertie into taking the fall for his own illegitimate daughter, derailing Bertie's wedding plans. To make matters worse, Mark nearly sabotages the family business by carelessly offloading stock at a fraction of its worth. Tensions mount as the Van Alstyne family grapples with betrayal and the fallout from Mark's selfish schemes.
