Plot
Serra, a university student from Palermo, eagerly enlists in 1942 to join the fight in Africa, landing with the Pavia Division in Egypt. As the Axis forces, led by Rommel, face mounting pressure, the Italian troops initially grapple with the harsh realities of heat, hunger, and boredom. When the British launch their offensive, chaos ensues, revealing the grim nature of war devoid of glory. Amidst the confusion and retreat, Serra, along with Sergeant Rizzo and Lieutenant Fiori, embarks on a poignant journey back home, contemplating the fate that awaits when his three miracles run out.
