Plot

Set in 16th-century Castile, Comuneros chronicles the rebellion against Charles I led by passionate citizens striving for autonomy. As tensions rise, three key figures—Juan de Padilla, Juan Bravo, and Francisco Maldonado—emerge as leaders of the movement. Their quest for justice faces a devastating setback at the Battle of Villalar on April 23, 1521. Ultimately, the uprising ends in tragedy as the leaders are captured and executed, marking a poignant chapter in Spain's struggle for self-determination.
