Plot

Determined to find a new general manager, auto tycoon Gifford invites three couples to New York, convinced that a supportive wife is key to her husband’s success. Among them are Jerry and Carol, where Jerry’s ambition clashes with Carol’s willingness to leverage her looks for his advancement. Sid and Elizabeth face their own struggles, with Sid's health at risk and Elizabeth fearing for his life, yet she commits to supporting him. Rounding out the group are Bill and Katie, whose joyful family life is threatened by the prospect of Bill’s promotion.
