Plot

A couple ventures deep into the jungle, seeking a spiritual tree while escaping familial obligations. By day, their love story unfolds, and by night, a haunting song encapsulates their innocent yearning for happiness. Directed as an experimental piece by Apichatpong Weerasethakul in collaboration with filmmaker Pimpaka Towira, "Worldly Desires" weaves together elements of romance and nostalgia. Inspired by a forbidden love tale crafted by his assistant, the narrative is enhanced by the pop song "Will I Be Lucky?", symbolizing the carefree joy love brings. This project serves as a tribute to the filmmaking memories from 2001 to 2005.
