Plot

In July 2001, Genoa became a battleground as over 200,000 demonstrators gathered to protest the G8 summit. Tensions escalated dramatically when 23-year-old Carlo Giuliani was fatally shot by police during a confrontation. Following this tragedy, law enforcement launched a violent raid on the Diaz high school, where around a hundred unarmed protesters and journalists sought refuge. The brutal crackdown on these individuals prompted Amnesty International to label it the most significant violation of civil liberties in a democratic nation since World War II, highlighting a grim chapter in the struggle for free expression.
