Plot
Victor Garnier, a naive shopkeeper, loses his family's savings after investing in an African mine on his banker's advice, only to see it nationalized and rendered worthless. Feeling cheated, he concocts a plan to rob the bank in retaliation, enlisting his entire family who also feel betrayed. While digging a tunnel seems straightforward for seasoned criminals, the Garnier family faces numerous obstacles, including Victor's wife, whose tendency to speak her mind risks exposing their scheme to the local police. As tensions rise, their heist becomes a comical struggle against both the law and their own quirks.
