Plot
Set against the backdrop of World War II, Switzerland's strict refugee policies leave many desperate. A train from Germany makes a brief stop, prompting six individuals—four Jewish refugees, a French child, and a German deserter—to leap off in search of safety. They find temporary shelter at a village inn run by a couple, crafting a false identity as a family. As they navigate their precarious situation, the truth begins to unravel due to fate and the scrutiny of a local constable.
