The Cuckoo (2002)

Plot

In September 1944, just before Finland exited World War II, Veikko, a Finnish sniper bound to a rock, manages to break free. Meanwhile, Ivan, a captain in the Soviet Army, narrowly escapes the clutches of the Front Secret Police known as 'Smersh.' As representatives of opposing forces, their paths cross at the remote farm of Anni, a Lapp woman who offers refuge. To her, they are not soldiers of rival armies but simply two men seeking solace amidst the chaos of war.
