Plot
June and Jennifer Gibbons, the only Black twins in their small Welsh town during the 1970s and '80s, experience profound isolation from their community. As they withdraw from the outside world, they create a rich inner life filled with imagination and youthful dreams, communicating solely with each other. Their rebellious spirit culminates in acts of vandalism, leading to their confinement in Broadmoor, a notorious psychiatric institution. There, they confront a harrowing dilemma: to either embrace separation for survival or remain united, risking their lives in the process.
