Plot

A powerful documentary showcases the incredible journey of the Six Triple Eight battalion, comprised of the first all-black female soldiers sent to Europe during WWII. Featuring interviews with the last surviving members, it reveals their daunting task of sorting through over 17 million pieces of mail in war-torn Birmingham and Rouen. Despite facing systemic racism and sexism, these resilient women completed their mission in record time, dodging U-boats along the way. Their contributions remained largely unrecognized until a monument was unveiled in 2018 at Fort Leavenworth, finally honoring their pivotal role in military history.
