Plot

Fortuna, a 14-year-old girl from Ethiopia, anxiously awaits news of her parents who vanished while crossing the Mediterranean. As winter descends, she and fellow refugees find refuge in a Swiss Catholic monastery. Amidst uncertainty about her future, Fortuna discovers she is pregnant. This revelation sparks unease within the religious community, confronting their understanding of Christian charity. The arrival of new refugees only intensifies the challenges they face, forcing both Fortuna and the monastery's inhabitants to grapple with profound moral dilemmas and the complexities of compassion in a time of crisis.
