The Runaway (2000)

Plot

At the birth of two boys—a white child and a black child—a mystical Conjure Woman (Maya Angelou) foretells their pivotal role in ushering in change. Growing up as inseparable friends in 1940s rural Georgia, they stumble upon a revelation that prompts Sheriff Frank Richards (Dean Cain) to revisit the unsolved murders of three black men.
