Plot

In the fading industrial landscape of Southern Ohio, Ruth Avery, a tenacious young woman, sees a glimmer of hope when she receives a college acceptance letter. To fund her education, she teams up with her older brother and joins a perilous scrap metal crew. Their days are spent laboring in scrap yards, while nights are filled with risky heists at abandoned factories. As winter drags on, Ruth realizes that the sacrifices required for her education may be greater than she anticipated, forcing her to confront the difficult choice between her aspirations and her family's future.
